Mandate
The Advisory Committee’s role is to advise the Executive Committee on the major directions to pursue and prioritize as well as the challenges faced by end-of-life and palliative care (SPFV). Additionally, the Advisory Committee evaluates and makes recommendations on the governance process and the orientations of RQSPAL according to the rules established in its Charter and by the FRQS. Finally, the Advisory Committee provides an external opinion on RQSPAL’s achievements and future priorities.
Composition
The Advisory Committee is composed of a minimum of three people (representatives of the Network’s organizational partners or individuals whose expertise can provide a strategic contribution to the Network or honorary members). It is recommended that at least one of these people be international and that one of the Committee members have expertise in governance. The RQSPAL coordinator will ensure the Committee functions properly and will participate in meetings. The leadership (director and co-director) will also participate in the meetings. The current members of the Advisory Committee are:
- Vincent Morel, Associate Professor of Palliative Medicine and Hospital Practitioner, CHU Rennes, University of Rennes 1, and member of the scientific council of the French Society for Supportive and Palliative Care (SFAP), France.
- Luc Deliens, Director and founder of the End-of-Life Care Research Group at Vrije University Brussel and Ghent University, Belgium.
- José Pereira, Professor, Division of Palliative Care, Department of Family Medicine, McMaster University, and Scientific Advisor, Pallium Canada, Hamilton, Ontario.
- Serge Dumont, honorary member of RQSPAL and Emeritus Professor, Laval University.
